Original Art and Commissions
Original paintings are for sale as well as archival pigment prints. Commission works are encouraged. The artist works from your photos. If interested in submitting a commission request, please go to "Contact" and send the artist your inquiry.
Photo Requirements for Commissions
If you are seeking a custom painting, the artist is looking for photographs of your animals and or other subject matter that are very clear with good detail, especially of the face and eyes in animals or people. She wants you to like the pose and expression of the animal/people because that will be closely reflected in the finished painting. She does not really care about what is in the background because she often makes up her own background based on things you like and colors you like. The artist expects that you have looked at her completed works and like the style she has and that you have confidence in her creative abilities. You and the artist will agree on the photograph that will be used to create the painting before any payment or work is begun.
Payment Plans and Requirements for Commissions
Commissions require a 25% percent non-refundable deposit to start which is applied to total price upon completion of the work (unless the artist has to pay a percentage of sales to an agent or gallery and in that case a 50% non-refundable deposit is required). Balance of commission is due upon completion. If paying with Pay Pal, there is now Pay Pal credit for purchases over $100. Smallest size for commission is 8" x 8" mixed media on wooden artist board approximately two inches deep that does not require framing to hang, $175. Works larger than 8" x 8" have an easy pricing guide: Multiply square inches times $2.50. For instance 11 x 14 equals 154 square inches times $2.50 equals $385. Any size above 8 x 8 is priced that way as you can see in the galleries under the originals list price. Commissions are completed on a first come, first served basis. All paintings larger than 8 x 8 are done on gallery wrap canvas meaning that there is about a 2 inch profile all around. The artist paints all the edges extending the image, creating a clean finished look that does not require a frame if a very modern look is desired. No frame required also saves money. The artist ships insured FedEx. If an international order is received, there may be an additional shipping charge that will be agreed upon by both parties prior to work being started.
The artist gives discounts to people who are her Facebook friends and follow her Facebook art page. If a commission is agreed with a gallery, no discounts can be offered.
